It is time people using Facebook start following the common rules of courtesy. I hear a lot of people complaining about friends/family on FB, but nobody wants to say this to their face & hurt feelings. So, I take the onerous task of doing so for everybody. Below are a few guidelines everybody could use.

First of all, this is Facebook, not twitter. So please don’t give updates 10 times a day. Before you type, ask yourself whether you would care for such an update from others?

You must have a picture on Facebook. This is not a “mystery” book.

Don’t just join Facebook to get updates from others. When others provide entertainment & information for you, you have a duty to do the same, at least some of the time.

Don’t put hundreds of pictures of your far-related cousin’s wedding…unless that cousin happens to be Angelina Jolie.

Having too many friends on Facebook, it doesn’t make you seem popular, just makes you look like a stalker.

On the other hand, not being on Facebook doesn’t make you seem more mysterious, just makes us wonder what you may be hiding!

Playing games is ok, but sending updates of the games to your friends is certainly not “cool”. You will only end up annoying the hell out of them.

Posting pictures of others that are not flattering and then tagging them is certainly not in the cool category.

Just sending links & links but no updates whatsoever is no fun! Break your own rules sometimes & surprise others!

Lastly, if have any other grievances to add…do let me know!
